Ēkāji Great Oak
The Great Oak got its name from the former "Ēkāji" forest ranger's house that once stood in this place.
This majestic tree is approximately 23 meters tall, with an impressive trunk circumference of 5.45 meters measured at one meter height from the roots. Its crown spreads to an impressive 22x22 meters, offering shelter and tranquility. The Latvian State Forests have created a comfortable resting area here with a table, benches, a campfire spot, and an informational stand where visitors can learn more about the surroundings. In the place of the former gravel pit, a large pond with a swimming area has been established, making this spot an ideal destination to relax in nature and escape the daily noise of the city.
