Veczemju cliffs

+1
You have surely heard of the stony coastline of Vidzeme – it is a 12-kilometer stretch of coastline where you can see sandstone outcrops along the shore.
Here you can see sandstone rocks that were formed 350-380 million years ago during the Devonian period. Off the coast, there are also shallow reefs with boulder ridges and piles. A well-equipped campsite operates near the cliffs, where you can relax and enjoy the closeness of nature. Due to the beautiful natural scenery, Latvian-loved films such as "The Long Road in the Dunes" and "The Zītaru Family" have been filmed here.

P.S. If you are traveling by car and want to get close to the Veczemju Cliffs, there is a paid parking lot available. If you are willing to take a short walk, you can park your car for free in one of the Vitrupa parking lots and reach the Veczemju Cliffs by walking 6.7 km along the beach, or you can park in the free parking lot in Oltūži by the A1 road and reach the Veczemju Cliffs after just 4.7 km.
