Firefighting Museum
Fire-fighting Museum of Ainaži opened its door to visitors in December 1991, when firefighters celebrated 65th anniversaryof the foundation of volunteer firefighter's association.
In Ainaži, this small seaside and border town, the Ainaži Volunteer Firefighters Association will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. Its members not only liquidate fires, but also preserve their traditions. The work of Ainaži firefighters since the beginning of the association can be found in the Ainaži Firefighting Museum. The museum was opened on December 15, 1991, when the firefighters celebrated their 65th anniversary. The museum's exposition "Shining buttons and helmets" displays photographs and descriptions of the firefighters' work from the first foundation meeting. Hand-pumps, hand-sirens, old photography, wtitten materials, photographs of firefighter training, sports competitions and celebrations and the beautiful and shiny flag pins can be viewed in this museum. In the neighboring fire station there is a possibility to fit on fire-fighter helmets, to turn a hand -siren and to take a photograph at fire-fighter cars.

Veide Castle was built in 1902. It was built by a ship owner and captain Mārtiņš Veide - representative of the most influential family of Ainaži town at that time. The building today is one of the most visible in Ainaži.
