Salacgrīva Lighthouse
Salacgrīva Lighthouse is located on the right bank of the Salaca River - a square white tower with a red lantern at the end. Today the lighthouse is no longer in operation.
The lighthouse was built because the coast between Salacgrīva and Ainaži was the most dangerous area for navigation in the entire Gulf of Rīga due to the numerous shoals. Today, the lighthouse serves as the unofficial symbol of the town.
