Spēkozolu (Power Oak) Hiking Trail

The hike includes 8 different oak trees growing both in the field and in untouched nature along the riverbank and in the forest, ranging in age from 150 to 250 years old, the rocky and winding Aģe River, the Silver Grove, a young grove of nineteen oaks, the Spēkozols grove, the Wisdom Stone, the Young Birches, as well as two WWII forest bunkers, the family hideout of the landowners.

During the hike, you will have the opportunity to observe wildlife and birds, as well as climb to the top of an oak and take a certificate of your Spēkozols climber from the chest. The large loop of the hike is 3 km, of which 2 km lead through fields and natural meadows, while 1 km passes through typical Latvian coniferous and deciduous forest and clearings. The smaller, shorter, and easier loop leads through fields, arable land, and forest edges.

The points of interest on the hike are marked, but a map is also needed, which can be found at the beginning of the hike near the Medņu farm.

We recommend wearing hiking shoes, as this is neither a trail nor a boardwalk, but a hike in the open air.
