"Bīriņi" castle
The dwelling house of the manor house owners, constructed in 1860. The building is surrounded by a romantic and beautiful setting, formed by a facilitated park, lakes and manor house buildings.
A hotel and a restaurant are located in the castle. The spacious halls of the castle are suitable for wedding celebrations, parties and seminars. A tavern is located in the water mill.

Bīriņi castle was built in the time Augusts fon Pistolkorss in 1860. after the architect F.V. Hese project. This is the most impressive crescent-style building in Latvian castle architecture. ''The building's common architectonical solution is attributable to neo-gothic, but the window openings - whose semi-circle covers have a significant role in the castle's common character - are characteristic to the crescent style. Thereby, the Bīriņi castle from the stylistic opinion can be assessed as a peculiar combiantion of two trends. It has also earned the contemporary recognition and in nowadays can be considered as a extraordinary example of architectonical thinking''. The building had a rich decor - sculptures, moldings, which have been lost in WW I. In the castle itself neo-renaissance interior finish has been preserved - the broad entrance lobby with bilateral wooden staircase, dining hall with cartridged wooden ceiling and glaced tile stove etc.

The lakeside of Bīriņi Castle boasts a terraced section of a formal park, which is further complemented by a wonderful manor park with several rare tree species. In the thick trunks and gently drooping branches of the old trees, strength and romance still dwell.

The Bīriņi Manor Cemetery was built in 1819 under the guidance of Count Ludwig August Mellin. A hill was used for its construction, with an underground space created and reinforced with a barrel-shaped brick vault. One side of the hill was excavated to create an entrance, which is located between walls made of fieldstones. The aisles and niches were once decorated with lavish oak leaf and flower garlands cast in lime mortar. Currently, the cemetery is owned by the Vidriži Parish of Limbaži Municipality.

The walking trails of Bīriņi Castle lead through and around two estate parks: Priežkalns Park and Mežaparks. Together, they form a large, unified territory of the estate center, which is a rare treasure in Latvia and is passed down to future generations with national protection number 6455.
