The owner of the countryside homestead "Dzirnupes" crafts unique stump drums. The drums are carved from various types of wood – spruce, linden, and river willow. The top of the drum is covered with resonant skins – goat and beaver hides. Other musical instruments and souvenirs are also made – horns, percussion instruments, butter churn dashers, pipes, and more.
When visiting "Dzirnupes", you can learn how drums are made, try your hand at drum crafting and playing. You can also purchase drums on-site at the homestead.
The drum maker can be invited to visit you – for a drum-making workshop, a performance, and sales.
