Lāņi Manor

In 1872, the Lāņi manor estate (Lāndhof) was separated from the Svētciems manor. In the same year, the Lāņi manor house was completed. Its owner until 1940 was Baron Reinhard von Fegezack, who was an agronomist by education. The Lāņi manor was also known as the hunting lodge, as gentlemen from abroad—Germany, Italy—came there for hunting.

According to memory stories, on both sides of the main entrance to the manor, at the top, there were deer heads sculptures, and in the center, a mounted deer head. The manor park was designed and maintained by a gardener from Germany. The manor property consisted of 100 hectares of land, which was worked by tenants. The baron himself only owned a small garden. Baron Reinhard von Fegezak repatriated to Germany in 1938 and rented the Lāņi Manor to the local executive committee for 1 ruble a year, intending to preserve property rights.

With the help of the Soviet government, in the fall of 1940, a school was established at Lāņi Manor, but the manor had been abandoned up to that point, so the rooms were partially demolished and looted. In the first school year, there were only four classes with two teachers. The pioneer leader was a Komsomol member, Margarita Ozoliņa, who organized all the local youth for important events. According to the 1959 newspaper "Soviet Land (Limbaži)", it can be concluded that Lāņi Manor hosted a 7-year school. The school operated in Lāņi Manor until 1994 (inclusive).

After the closure of the school, Lāņi Manor was auctioned several times until it was purchased by a private owner in 2007.
