Silver museum
The exhibition of silversmith Oļegs Auzers' life's work intertwines art, philosophy, and craftsmanship with silver in exquisite sculptures.
In Limbaži, in the Burtnieku Quarter, visitors can explore an exhibition featuring works such as "The Flying Dutchman", a reflection of human life through the image of a storm-tossed ship; the chest "Greed", symbolizing human weaknesses like excessive materialism and avarice; a neo-baroque candelabrum depicting the richness of the underwater world; and the newest piece, "Covid-?". The jewel of Oļegs Auzers’ collection is the world’s largest silver castle, "Castle of the Future. 3001", along with biblical scenes in silver – "Noah’s Ark" and "Cain and Abel", the legend-based sculpture "Rose of Turaida", the musical goblet "Accordion", and many more. The master’s works tell stories of a world where envy and greed coexist with sacrifice and altruism, where love intertwines with hate, and where life ultimately prevails over death.
The silversmith’s creative workshop offers:
📍 Talisman crafting – an opportunity to embed all past hardships into silver, transforming them with fire into a new beginning. The resulting talisman brings protection, luck, and health.
📍 For newlyweds – the creation of a silver family branch.
📍 Immortalizing special moments – engraving a leaf on the Gates of Love and Friendship to mark wedding days or other significant events.
At the exhibition, visitors can learn about the story and meaning behind each artwork, admire the nature paintings of artist Arturs Auzers, and sign up for workshops. In silver sculptures, nature elements serve as symbols reflecting human relationships, values, life’s shifting paths, and the breath of the world.

Ships, cliffs, people, buildings, landscapes painted in pastel tones—motifs seemingly from fairy tales, reminiscent of Flemish painting… A veiled world emanates from the wall paintings in the attic floor of this house. These were once commissioned by a certain Braunšveigs, about whom little is known, yet thanks to the homeowner's refined taste, his name is often mentioned here. Today, these wall paintings are recognized as a nationally significant art monument.

In the middle of the Burtnieku quarter, you can see the "Gates of Love and Friendship" made by silver sculptor Oļegs Auzers. One side of the Gates of Love symbolizes the masculine side, featuring oak branches, oak leaves, and acorns. The other side of the Gates of Love, which shows apple leaves and apple blossoms, symbolizes the feminine side. At the request of the newlyweds, there is an opportunity to order and hang a brass leaf with words and a lucky date.
