Guest house "Lauvaskalni"

+1
Guest house "Lauvaskalni" is located in an unspoiled natural area.
Lauvas Hill (124.7 m above sea level) is surrounded by Augstroze Lielezers Lake, forests, and several bogs, home to various protected plant species as well as wild blueberries, bilberries, cloudberries, and cranberries.
The sauna with a fireplace hall accommodates up to 24 people, and there is also a swimming pool.
A gazebo with a table for 24 people is available.

Accommodation

The guest house has three floors with 7 double rooms (beds can be arranged together or separately) and one large family room with 4 sleeping places and a baby crib.
Two rooms have balconies, one of which offers a beautiful view of Lake Augstroze through the trees.
Each floor has well-equipped toilet and shower facilities. Guests are provided with toiletries, hygiene essentials, and towels.

On the first floor, there is a kitchen fully equipped with everything you might need to prepare a delicious meal – either by yourself or with the help of the hostess – using ingredients you’ve brought with you.

Country Sauna

The sauna is located in a separate two-story building not far from the guest house.
On the ground floor, guests have access to a gathering room, the sauna, toilet, shower area with a small pool, and a utility room.
Upstairs there is a cozy fireplace hall with a large family-style table that can seat up to 24 people.

Preparing the sauna takes approximately 5 hours (2.5 hours to heat the stones and another 2.5 hours to warm up the sauna room), but the result will surprise even a sauna skeptic – the heat is pleasant, gentle, and deeply warming despite the high temperature.
The warmth in the sauna lasts for almost two days.
For those who enjoy a proper sauna experience, birch and oak leaf whisks are available.

Gazebo with Grill

The gazebo features a grill and all the necessary grilling tools. It is a favorite spot for families with children or groups of friends – perfect before heading to the sauna or for grilling freshly caught fish, meat, or vegetables.
Behind the gazebo is a firepit, which guests enjoy using after sunset.

Smokehouse

Though small and simple, the smokehouse works wonderfully – in just two hours, four chickens are ready to be enjoyed with friends.

Banquets

For celebrations and seminars, we offer table service for up to 35 people in cooperation with local catering companies.

Boat Rental

Guests have access to 3 boats – one four-person and two two-person boats – perfect for fishing or leisurely rides on Lake Augstroze (just 200 meters from the guest house).

Fishing and Leisure at Lake Augstroze

Lake Augstroze (400 ha) lies at the foot of Lauvaskalns, within a protected nature area.
It has an average depth of 2.3 m and maximum depth of 4.2 m. Fish species include pikeperch, pike, bream, roach, tench, crucian carp, perch, ruffe, goby, gudgeon, and others.
Since August 2010, fishing requires a license, available through ALDA or at our guest house.

Nature Trail

Guests can enjoy an unforgettable walk along a wild, naturally formed trail by the lake.
Every 100 meters, century-old oaks await – each unique, shaped by time and nature.
The trail was once part of a park planted by Baron Gersdorfs.
Now, it offers a natural adventure – fallen trees, beaver gnaws, and hidden rest spots make the experience fun for both children and adults.
You’ll return refreshed in body and soul.
