Holiday house "Medņi"

+0
The holiday house "Medņi" has been a member of the professional rural tourism association Lauku Ceļotājs since 2003. Medņi is located 70 km from Riga, 23 km from Saulkrasti, and 20 km from Limbaži. It is easily accessible from two directions – 4.6 km from Vidriži center or 3.1 km from Igate Castle. There are three accommodation options at Medņi: in the holiday house, in tents, or in trailers at the campsite “Skautu pļava”.

Medņi is a traditional Latvian homestead with a history spanning two centuries. In this harmonious place, shaped by both nature and human hands, we have created a holiday house where one can rest unhurriedly, recharge, clear the mind, and find inspiration! Guests at Medņi are introduced to the ancient Latvian wisdom of restoring balance and strength through oak energy.

Guests have access to a log house built in the 1930s. Here, one can feel the cozy spirit of a Latvian countryside farm. A separate part of the house with a private entrance is available. Five people can comfortably stay in two bedrooms with a kitchen, dining area, shower room, and toilet. One of the bedrooms also has a crib. Two additional sleeping places are available. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove, all necessary dishes, and kitchen utensils.

In the attic, there is a household item museum featuring an ancestral rural room. In the spacious Medņi yard, there are various relaxing areas – in a sunny meadow or a hammock under the maples. By the pond, there is a cozy fire pit and picnic spot. In the shady pondside sits the sacred Medņi oak – the most energetically powerful place in the area.

Children can enjoy a playground with a sandbox and swings, and there is a space for active games in the meadow near the orchard. In the ruins of an old stone house, a stork family nests atop the chimney. By late summer, the garden offers an abundance of redcurrants, gooseberries, and blackcurrants.

From Medņi, a small trail leads across the fields to the Aģe River, 200 m away, and to the mighty Aģe oak. To feel the sacred power of Latvian oaks, enjoy the beauty of fields, wild meadows, and forest rhythms, birdwatching and observing wildlife, we invite you on a 2.9 km “Power Oaks” hike.
